I have this Mountain Guide with a Pastor Aleman Stamp and a German Shepherd head. It's in really rough shape, Im not sure how functional I'll be able to get it. But I was really shocked when I opened the blade and saw the stamp. I just received this in a lot, and it's maybe the 7th or 8th Mountain Guide I've owned. I've only seen other examples of the stamp posted here on the forum. But those seem to suggest an Imperial knife connection to Mexico, and to me this definitely seems Colonial. Does anyone know Colonial's story down in Mexico?
Edit: with a bit more time to look into it i found this ebay listing and a few other examples. Definitely colonial.

Colonial is mentioned. You should read the WHOLE article.

Hey buddy sorry its taken me a while to respond, life's been crazy.
I did read that article. Thanks alot for linking to it, it's a great read. I think alot of guys here would find the bit about Fostarene very interesting and applicable to their own collections.
The whole bit about Albert Baer and Foster Grant making knives down in Mexico is pretty much a Johnny Depp movie in the making. Great stuff. Props to the author as well.
I am, however, still foggy on how an essentially Colonial knife came from a factory that was a resurrection of an Imperial outfit. Unless I missed something in the article...
Certainly there's no records from Colonial, not their strong suit.
